David takes inspiration from the natural world, responding to a place or an experience. Often referencing the landscape, photography & found forms as starting points. David is a former graphic designer and his keen eye for composition, and form is reflected in his abstract pieces. By using a reduced palette he creates work that focuses on depth, tone & texture without the distraction of colour.
Through the absence of narrative elements, the monochromatic works invite the viewer to a meditative contemplation and have an emotional depth to them that provokes a feeling of grounding and connection.
David’s work has been featured in Vogue, Living Etc and House & Garden. His work is in private collections worldwide.
Partnership Editions
A selection of David’s original paintings are also available through Partnership Editions. This curated platform works collaboratively with emerging to mid-career artists to produce limited edition prints and affordable unique works of art. Their aim is to make art accessible to all levels of collector as well as to give the artists a platform to experiment with new mediums and engage and evolve with new audiences.
North Coast Asylum
North Coast Asylum (NCA) a traditional art space based in a beautiful renovated Gothic Church on the North Coast of Cornwall. Run by an artist and photographer duo and their desire for a non-London based sanctuary aimed at promoting contemporary artists and photographers.
